What Circular Streetwear

Means to Us

Circular streetwear is our commitment to responsible design, extending the life of materials, respecting labor, and producing only what truly needs to exist.

  • Circular streetwear begins at the design stage. Every piece is created with longevity in mind — timeless silhouettes, purposeful construction, and details that are meant to be worn, repaired, and lived in over time.

  • We work with recycled and re-spun textiles to extend the life of materials that already carry history. By reclaiming what exists, we reduce waste while honoring the labor, stories, and hands embedded in every fabric.

  • Our process favors small batches and made-to-order production. This allows us to avoid excess, create thoughtfully, and remain accountable to both people and planet — not trends or overproduction.

Circular Fashion Starts Here

Material partners featured here contribute to the circular production ecosystem that supports the Fashion To The People collection.

Circular streetwear begins long before garments are constructed. Through partnerships with material recovery and textile innovation organizations, existing textiles are sorted, processed, and transformed into new fibers.

This process extends the life of materials that already carry history — reducing waste while creating the foundation for new garments.

The Escape Suit

  • Runaway enslaved people often relied on clothing to disguise identity and evade capture. Changing garments was a critical act of survival, reshaping how one was perceived in public spaces.

  • The Escape Suit balances concealment and presence — featuring functional pockets and adaptable construction inspired by movement, travel, and survival.

  • Crafted from recycled cotton textiles, extending the life of existing materials while reducing waste through intentional production.

Designed to move unseen yet remain unmistakable, The Escape Suit reflects the ingenuity of freedom seekers who altered their appearance to survive. Built for adaptability, it honors clothing as both protection and strategy.

Benjamin Banneker Racing Jacket

  • Benjamin Banneker helped map Washington, D.C., published influential almanacs, and publicly opposed slavery — proving knowledge itself can be an act of defiance.

  • Motorsport-inspired silhouettes meet archival symbolism, reflecting speed, calculation, and forward motion — grounded in historical purpose.

  • Constructed from recycled cotton heavy rib or pique knit, balancing durability with intentional texture.

A statement jacket honoring intellect, precision, and resistance — inspired by Benjamin Banneker’s legacy as a self-taught scientist and abolitionist.

Quilt Set

A convertible quilted dress and set that carries the story of movement, memory, and transformation — honoring clothing as a tool for freedom and reinvention.

  • Inspired by Cash, an enslaved Black woman who escaped with a carefully chosen bundle of garments, prepared to change her identity through dress if necessary.

  • Quilt patterns historically functioned as coded guides — silent signals of direction, safety, and resistance. This piece reinterprets those patterns through a contemporary lens.

  • Made from recycled cotton and polyester, quilted for structure, warmth, and longevity. Designed to convert and adapt across wearers and moments.

Freedom Fighter Tee

A statement piece rooted in resistance and remembrance — the Freedom Fighter Tee carries the legacy of abolition, activism, and the ongoing pursuit of liberation.

  • The Freedom Fighter Tee centers the word Abolitionist as both history and present tense. It honors those who resisted systems of oppression and recognizes freedom as something continuously fought for, not passively granted.

  • Language shapes action. By reclaiming abolitionist rhetoric in contemporary dress, this piece invites reflection on past struggles while challenging wearers to consider their role in shaping a more just future.

  • Made from recycled cotton jersey (20-singles), selected for its softness, durability, and reduced environmental impact — designed to be worn, lived in, and returned to again and again.

Conductor Cargo Overalls

A utilitarian silhouette honoring the conductors of the Underground Railroad — the individuals who guided others toward freedom through courage and collective action.

  • Conductors were the heart of the Underground Railroad, risking their lives to help others escape enslavement and navigate toward safety.

  • Functional pockets and workwear proportions reflect labor, movement, and purpose — rooted in resilience and community.

  • Crafted from recycled cotton, extending material life while honoring the multicultural figures who shaped paths toward freedom.

Some designs carry stories far older than fashion; we approach them with consultation, respect, and accountability.
